The Anniversary of Furman V. Georgia
On June 29, 1972 the US Supreme Court decided Furman V. Georgia and struck down the death penalty. Though we know that four years later the death penalty was reinstated, the majority opinion in Furman V. Georgia is as true today as it was in 1972.
