Derrick Jamison interviewed about the federal death penalty
Death row survivor Derrick Jamison was interviewed on CBC News in light of the federal reinstatement of the death penalty.
"It hurt my heart to see that [Attorney General Barr] was bringing the death penalty back," said death row exoneree Derrick Jamison. "We are one of the only civilized countries that is still killing our citizens."
He speaks on his experience on death row with six execution dates, his exoneration, and what's next for the death penalty in the United States.
Derrick also touches on the issue of innocence & the death penalty:
"We kill a lot of guilty people, but we kill a lot of innocent people having the death penalty too."
